Since its foundation in 1999, the WJC has been at the forefront of fighting for the rights of Jews and Jewish communities around the world. It advocates on their behalf towards governments, parliaments, international organizations and other faiths.
ARMED FORCES AND UNIVERSITIES
The JEWISH CHAPLAINCY INSTITUTE INTERNATIONAL is attached to secular institutions such as a hospital, prison, military unit, school, labor union, business, police department, fire department, university, or private chapel. We connect with students at colleges and universities and soldiers at military bases, creating lasting connections, inspiring and training them to become leaders and build their own communities.
The Israeli mission includes soldiers and reserve officers, among them engineering specialists, doctors and rescue personnel. The need for the establishment of the Chaplaincy arose due to the necessity of reconciling religious legal problems with the exigencies of military conditions and administering to the religious needs of those who serve in the soldiers and volunteers. Our chaplains are always there providing kosher food, religious services and more.
